SITE INDEX Service.lck (also mistakenly called Service.ick) There are several error message that revolve around problems with the Service.lck file. Ask Questions for Free! It is possible that the extensions might be so corrupt that only an uninstall/re-install will work. ● Once in a very great while, the extensions and the permissions are fine and But it doesn’t exist yet because VS 2005 can’t create it. Please check file permissions. This is one of those cases where a “recalculate hyperlinks” should fix the problem. Also copying a web, instead of publishing it can cause the Service.lck file to take on “Read Only” attributes, preventing you from opening a file or saving changes. CAUSE The error occurs because either you do not have a \Temp folder defined in your system environment or the folder has inadequate permissions for FrontPage to write the Frontpg.lck file.
